Jacobson Tax

Services

Three ways we work with clients.

Some clients need a full tax plan. Some have one specific question. Some simply need a return prepared well. We begin with your situation and recommend the work that fits.

Tax Plans

A tax plan is a fixed-scope engagement. We gather your prior returns and current-year information, model the tax picture across the next several years, and deliver a written plan that identifies the decisions ahead and what each one means for your taxes. The plan is revisited each year so it stays current as your life and the law change.

WHAT A PLAN MIGHT ADDRESS

  • Entity structure and owner compensation
  • Timing of income, deductions, and equipment purchases
  • Retirement plan options for the business and their tax treatment
  • Planning for a large capital gain
  • Sale or transition of the business

Tax Projects

Not everything needs a full plan. A tax project is focused work on one question with a clear scope and fee: responding to an IRS or Franchise Tax Board notice, evaluating the tax treatment of a transaction, reviewing a prior-year return, or working through the tax side of a change in your business.
